About the Group:

Thanks so much for your interest in the Habitat Young Professionals (HYP)! This group is currently open for both positions on our Leadership Committee and HYP membership. Differences between the two opportunities are below, as well as information on the group.

Habitat Young Professionals (HYP) Mission Statement: Our mission as young community leaders is to bring awareness to Richmond Metropolitan Habitat for Humanity (RMHFH) through advocacy, volunteering and fundraising efforts that will build homes, communities and hope.

Functions of Habitat Young Professionals:

1. Directly serving with Richmond Metropolitan Habitat for Humanity to help accomplish Habitat’s mission.  (volunteering).
2. Educating the local community members’ networks about the work and mission of Habitat.
3. Advocating on behalf of people in need of decent shelter and for an end to poverty housing and homelessness.
4. Raising funds for the work of Habitat for Humanity.
5. Participating and creating space for transformational leadership and professional development.

The HYP Leadership Committee: This group meets monthly and is the leadership of HYP. They work to plan the quarterly social and volunteer opportunities for membership and are the primary drivers and planners of HYP's yearly fundraiser. Spots within this group are limited, and will be open to membership as needed.

HYP Membership: Being a member of HYP is a wonderful way to get involved with Richmond Habitat and meet other young professionals in our community! Every quarter volunteer opportunities and socials will be planned and open to members of this group.
