If you are completing court-related community service, we're glad you're interested in volunteering with Richmond Habitat! To receive verification of your volunteer hours for any court-related requirement, you must complete our Court Related Community Service Form before volunteering.

Once we have received your completed form and confirmed that you are approved to volunteer, we will contact you via email with instructions for scheduling your first shift. Volunteer hours completed before you receive approval or without a staff member's signature at the time of your shift cannot be counted toward your verified community service hours.

Before You Volunteer

  • Court-related community service volunteers may serve at our Build Sites or Habitat ReStores, depending on volunteer opportunities and availability.

  • Volunteers under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian complete and sign the electronic waiver before volunteering.

  • To protect your privacy, Richmond Habitat will only communicate directly with the adult volunteer completing the community service requirement. If the volunteer is under 18 years of age, we may also communicate with their parent or legal guardian.

Eligibility

Richmond Habitat is unable to accept court-related community service volunteers with charges related to:

  • Larceny, theft, forgery, or fraud

  • Breaking and entering

  • Assault

  • Civil disobedience
