Family Information:
Phedra Williams knows what it’s like to care for others. Growing up the oldest of five siblings, Phedra took on the role of being a second mom while her single-mother worked two jobs to support her family. Now a proud mother to her 4-year old son Caiden, Phedra wants nothing more than to provide her son with the stability and security that a permanent, affordable home can bring. Phedra has worked full-time at the Department of the Treasury for nine years, and in that time, has worked diligently to improve her credit score and finances.
Currently, Phedra and Caiden live in a small, two-bedroom apartment with several leaks in the roof. The leaks have caused mold in her carpets. Phedra found out about Richmond Habitat’s affordable homeownership program from her cousin who is a Habitat homeowner, took a chance, applied and was accepted.
“This program is amazing - to give people an opportunity for homeownership that otherwise may not have a chance. This gave a hardworking, single-parent an opportunity.” - Phedra Williams,Future Homeowner
