Who We Are

Volunteers are critical to Habitat’s success!

Because of the help of people like you, whole neighborhoods improve and completely transform. Through this transformation, families achieve the strength, stability and independence they need to build a better life.

Our homes are built almost entirely by volunteers, both skilled and unskilled. Whether you are a contractor or have never picked up a hammer in your life, we need your help! All the equipment and safety gear you need for the day is provided and no previous experience is necessary.

What We Do

  • Shift: 8:00AM-3:00PM. Orientations take place at the start of each shift, and all volunteers are required to be present.

  • Age requirements: Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older to serve on a construction site. Volunteers who are 16 or 17 years old must volunteer with an adult until a Habitat supervisor approves them to volunteer independently. Both the youth volunteer and accompanying adult must have volunteer accounts, completed waivers, and be registered for the same volunteer shift. All volunteers under 18 must have a parent or guardian complete a Minor Volunteer Waiver & Release before volunteering.

  • Clothing: Volunteers must wear closed-toed shoes. Volunteers should wear comfortable clothing that they don't mind getting dirty. Dress appropriately for the weather and keep in mind that neither indoor nor outdoor work sites have heat or air conditioning.

  • Food & drink: Lunch is not provided, please bring a packed lunch. Bottled water is provided.

  • Court: Court Related Community Service Volunteers MUST complete our online Community Service Policy Form and await approval from the Volunteer Engagement Specialist via email before collecting hours. Please allow 48 business hours for approval. Hours WILL NOT be verified if this form is not completed and you have not received appropriate documentation.

  • Volunteer Handbook: Have questions or want to learn more about volunteering? Click here to read our new and improved volunteer handbook!
